Initiative team moving forward with approved recommendation

The extensive Request for Information (RFI) phase detailed in the previous update concluded in January. It resulted in a recommendation that has now been approved by the initiative’s Executive Sponsors. For the four key areas within the Integration Platform (API Manager, ETL) and Identity and Access Management (Profile/CIAM, Identity Governance, and Administration), the program team will be pursuing a combination of the use of existing contracts and Request for Proposals (RFP).

The key decisions made as a result of the RFI phase are as follows:

  • Identity and Access Management – For capabilities needed around CIAM/Profile, the team will conduct a deeper dive with Salesforce to validate our understanding of capabilities and costs pertaining to the CIAM outcomes detailed in the roadmap. This deep dive will not require an RFP and will determine if procurement authority exists for the identified Salesforce components. For Provisioning/Deprovisioning, the team is also conducting a deep dive with Unicon/midPoint in order to validate that it can meet Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) needs.
  • Integration Platform – To meet university needs around API Management, the team is initiating an RFP. For ETL capabilities, the initiative will move forward with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS), which will leverage a recently negotiated UW System-wide license purchased under the state software reseller contract.
The goal is to have this next phase completed by the end of the fiscal year. As always, if you have questions regarding this update or would like to further engage with the Interoperability Team, please connect with us through one of the various methods on the Interop website.
